Dress Code

Everyday feels like the weekend in Surfers Paradise. The dress code is the epitome of casual but often there is a hit of bling.

Surfers Paradise powered Australia’s adoption of the bikini and the fashion forward ideals of casual attire continue today. It is not uncommon to see people in their bathers shopping for groceries or dining at cafes. The weather and water makes the cossie an easy fit for day wear.

But something else also happens here. People often dress to catch the light. So don’t be afraid to sparkle it up. You will see some sensational outfits on the beach and the streets. But its always comfortable.

The night clubs have their own set of standards and this is where people really do like to dress up. Some of the bars and lounges are like Hollywood scenes just begging you to step into character. So there is a time and place for looking sharp.

Shorts, T shirts and thongs/sandals is a very common option and bare arms is fine for women and men. Just be prepared to see some people who make that combo look anything but casual.
