The 2024 Pacific Airshow is set to take flight over the stunning Surfers Paradise beachfront promising a three-day spectacle that will dazzle aviation enthusiasts and thrill-seekers.
With a lineup featuring world-class talent and more surprises to come, this year’s event promises to be bigger than last year. August 16th to 18th will be a weekend packed with high-flying excitement and breathtaking performances.
2024 Headliners
One of the main attractions is the United States Marine Corps’ Ospreys. These unique tiltrotor aircraft combine the capabilities of a helicopter with the high-speed performance of a turboprop plane. Their demonstration will showcase their astounding versatility.
The Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) will also be a significant presence, featuring heritage aircraft from the 100 Squadron. Their inclusion promises a nod to aviation history and RAAF’s storied past.
The Air Force Roulettes, Australia’s premier aerobatic display team, will demonstrate precision flying and breathtaking formations. Their performances are a testament to skill and teamwork, offering a highlight of the airshow.
Another must-see is the United States Air Force’s dual C-17 Globemasters, illustrating air mobility and logistics capabilities. These massive aircraft play a crucial role in military and humanitarian missions. Their performance will demonstrate their strategic importance.
The United States Navy Leap Frogs – an elite parachute team – will perform high-altitude jumps, showcasing their precision skydiving and parachute skills in mesmerizing formations. Aviation enthusiasts can look forward to Red Bull Air Race world champion Matt Hall, a former RAAF top gun fighter pilot, who will bring his aerobatic prowess to the skies. Joining him is Emma McDonald, an accomplished aerobatics pilot and Head of Aviation for the Matt Hall Racing team.
Californian Greg Colyer will take to the skies in the iconic T-33 Shooting Star, a classic jet trainer aircraft, showcasing its grace and history. Local hero Hayden Pullen will perform in his Extra 330 LT, a plane known for its agility and speed, demonstrating high-energy aerobatics.
The Freedom Formation team will execute precise formations, and the Westpac Lifesaver Rescue Helicopter will demonstrate critical lifesaving capabilities in a simulated search and rescue operation. The Screaming Diamonds will captivate with their flawless formation flying and the Gold Coast Skydive team will offer heart-stopping moments as they leap from breathtaking heights.
Other notable performers include the Red Star Roolettes, who will entertain with skilled aerobatics and the Fastjet L-39s, performing coordinated aerobatics. World freestyle aerobatics champion Aarron Deliu will astound the crowd with his daring solo aerobatics and extreme sports sensation Jacko Strong is set to perform a thrilling stunt.
