The Esplanade
Alongside the beach is The Esplanade. It is 1.5kms where everything changes. The city stops like a cliff and the view opens to 180 degrees of ocean horizon. Everyone gathers to see, be seen, forget and remember. It is where the most photographed sign in Australia proudly announces Surfers Paradise. This is the beachfront with hotel towers on one side and breaking waves on the other.
Take a seat in the outdoor cafes and just watch the passing parade. Exotic cars, beach goers, walkers, joggers and people on all kinds of wheels and boards. There are picnic areas, barbecues, beach showers, water and fitness stations – just waiting for you to join in. The Esplanade connects to an extensive foreshore walking and cycling trail so you can just keep going with the beach at your side.
On select days there is a beachfront market showcasing local artisans.
