This free public event celebrates the lively culture and local businesses of Chevron Island.
The It’s On Chevron Street Party was held on Sunday, 28th July 2024, in the main street – Thomas Drive, Chevron Island. Hosted by the Chevron Island Business & Residents Association this free public event celebrated the lively culture and local businesses of Chevron Island.
Surrounded by water and positioned between Surfers Paradise and HOTA (Home of the Arts), Chevron Island is the perfect location for playing in the sun. The afternoon featured live entertainment, delicious food and a family-friendly atmosphere. Visitors enjoyed performances, explored local stalls and savoured the diverse dining options from nearby restaurants.
The afternoon featured live music with the main stage hosting a lineup of bands and performing arts. The streets came alive with a lively mix of activities including mouthwatering street food stalls, a superb array of vintage cars and live bands that kept the crowd dancing in the streets. An energetic street parade led by samba dancers, colourful performers on stilts and roving entertainers added to the carnival-like atmosphere. Families enjoyed face painting, games and other activities that ensured fun for all ages.
Chevron Island offered a unique opportunity to be part of a major Gold Coast street celebration! Easily accessible on foot from both the East and West bridges, the Surfers Paradise tram, Chevron Island bus stops and multiple parking areas, the event attracted an estimated crowd of over 3,000 people.
A host of local businesses supported the event, showcasing their offerings:
- Cafe Alfons, known for its boutique breakfasts, lunches, and homemade cakes.
- Fu Manchu Oriental, an Asian fusion restaurant and cocktail bar.
- GC Hype Printing, a local printing service.
- Loco Tattoo, a premier Gold Coast tattoo studio.
- Ocean Blue Realty, a long-standing local real estate agency.
- Property Club, providing property investment guidance.
- Yoga in Paradise, offering barre and reformer Pilates classes.
