Our famous sandy beach
Surfers Paradise, also known as 'Surfers', is famous for its beautiful sandy beach, sunny weather and surfing culture. From Northcliffe to Narrowneck, this stretch of Gold Coast shoreline is a popular spot for tourists.
When it comes to swimming, there are 6 lifeguard towers along Surfers Paradise Beach that are patrolled between 8am and 5pm every day of the year. Swim at these locations between the flags.
The lifeguard towers are numbered sequentially from south to north so you can use them to help orient yourself along the shore.
South precinct:
- No 31 – Wharf Road
- No 32 – Thornton Street and Garfield Terrace at Northcliffe Surf Life Saving Club,
- No 33 – Clifford Street
Central precinct:
- No 34 – The Esplanade at the end of Cavill Avenue
- No 35 – Elkhorn Avenue
North precinct:
- No 36 – Staghorn Avenue
- No 37 – Esplanade
- No 38 – Narrowneck/Main Beach
For your safety, please make sure to swim between the red and yellow flags in the designated patrolled area.
